Hi Koen,
Under the motto ‘if it goes well, it can also be said’: our sailing trip to London was fantastic!
Under the motto ‘if it goes well, it can also be said’: our sailing trip to London was fantastic!
Under the watchful eye of Frank, Bart and I were able to sail the Five O to the UK, where the conditions were ‘intensive’ (tough & a lot of fun) on Friday. Sailing up and down the Thames was mostly a challenge: less challenging but all the more time to get to know the digital map and all its functionality. Also time to see London grow from afar until you suddenly pass the city, the O2 arena, Greenwich, to finally have the ‘kick’ of flannering circles with a sailing yacht a few meters from Tower Bridge before we were allowed to enter the lock.
The return trip was spectacular: in 14 hours from London to Nieuwpoort and -for me- the first night sailing trip. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! There was quite a bit of traffic in the traffic lanes and it was very impressive to see the big giants coming and passing by at a fast pace. Frank guessed us perfectly between the large ships.

I enjoyed Frank’s company, his skills, his observations and many tips and advice for sailing. I’m already going to look to get my yachtman license!
Thank you in advance & see you on the next sailing trip!
Mvg,
Karlo
